GAE's official kick-off  will take place March 2 at the Children's Museum of Atlanta.
It's never too early to start planning for your 2017 Read Across America activities. Check our related links below for everything you need. When ordering RAA merchandise, it is suggested that you get your orders in as early as possible.
Also, locally please take advantage of the partnerships that have developed from the state level.
Create an event in conjunction with your local public libraries, school media specialists, press, Barnes and Noble (if applicable), Reading Councils, Kiwanis clubs, school system public relations persons, local authors, and community organizations e.g. fire, police, children's hospitals. Invite local business, community, civic, and social leaders to participate in an event. Encourage school leaders to do something outlandish as a reward for their students meeting a reading challenge.(See Pledge to Participate below.)

Check out our Facebook, YouTube,
and Flickr pages for RAA action!
There are copyright restrictions imposed by Dr. Suess Enterprises such as no promotions with fast food companies. So if you plan to ask a business to get involved, please contact Kevin Pearson to check if the type of business is okay. Also, only the NEA, its affiliates, and their identified partners, are authorized to use the Read Across America artwork featuring the Cat-in-the-Hat.
You're all set!!
